Workshop & Performance — Alexandra Cárdenas
October 16, The Indian Sonic Research Organisation hosted a workshop & performance with composer, live coder, and sound artist Alexandra Cárdenas. From 18:00 to 20:00, participants joined an introductory workshop in creative coding with the Strudel programming environment, exploring basics of live coding (patterns, sound synthesis, real-time control. The workshop was followed by a performance from 20:00 to 20:45. The event was open to everyone — artists, musicians, coders, and curious beginners.
About Alexandra Cárdenas#
Alexandra Cárdenas is a composer, live coder, and sound artist from Bogotá, Colombia, based in Berlin. Her work explores the intersection of code and music through open-source tools such as SuperCollider, TidalCycles and Strudel. She is a leading figure in the international live coding and Algorave communities and a co-founder of several TOPLAP nodes in Latin America and Europe. Alexandra is also deeply committed to diversity and accessibility in technology and the arts. Through her performances, workshops, and educational projects, she strives to create inclusive spaces for creative coding that empower women and underrepresented communities to engage with sound, technology, and creative expression. This workshop and concert was presented with the support of the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore.
